OUR Smooth pressure treated "Railway" Sleepers are 2.4m long x 200mm high

and ours are 100mm thick to ensure that they do not warp easily

(BEWARE - some suppliers only stock a very narrow 75mm thick type!)

Ours are not seconds & do not have the external bark the tree on them or display rough ragged edges!

SCANDINIVIAN PRESSURE TREATED DECKING & SUBFRAME JOISTS. This Scandanivian decking is still our most popular type of decking as it consists of much harder wearing timber than the faster growing soft Irish types which we would not recommend for Irish climatic conditions. In particular we have found that the Irish deck boards are extremely easily ruined by water pressure cleaners!

FOR DECKING THE SUBFRAME JOISTS SHOULD BE PRESSURE TREATED 4" X 2" SIZED TIMBERS & SHOULD BE SPACED AT 16" APART, WITH BRIDGING BETWEEN THE JOISTS AT 36" APART, TO PREVENT JOISTS WARPING! WE ALSO SUPPLY WEED SUPPRESSING UNDERLAY, PAO POSTS, DECKING PANELS, MARINE ROPE & LIGHTING.

CUSTOMERS SHOULD NOTE THAT DUE TO SOLAR RADIATION THAT MOST TIMBERS IN ALL TYPES OF GOODS MAY CRACK BUT THIS HAS NO EFFECT ON STABILITY. AS WITH ALL NATURAL TIMBER PRODUCTS, OUR TIMBER PRODUCTS WILL BE SUBJECT TO CHANGE DEPENDING ON WEATHER CONDITIONS, AND INSIGNIFICANT CRACKS & SPLITS CAN OCCUR.TIMBER IS A NATURAL PRODUCT AND THESE ARE NOT CONSIDERED TO BE A FAULT OR DEFECT. WITH FLUCTUATIONS IN WEATHER CONDITIONS THE CRACKING WILL WILL OPEN & CLOSE OVER A WIDELY VARYING TIMESCALE. ALL TYPES OF SQUARED POSTS & FRAMES MAY HAVE VARYING DEGREES OF CRACKING, AS CAN DECKING BOARDS, JOISTS, TRELLIS, FENCING, TIMBER FURNITURE, GARDEN SHEDS ETC. EXTREME TEMPERATURES MAY CAUSE TIMBER TO WARP. THESE ARE NATURAL OCCURRENCES. ALSO PLEASE NOTE THAT WHEN TIMBER DRIES SOME SMALL KNOTS MAY ON OCCASION FALL OUT & THERE IS NO WAY TO PREVENT THIS AS IT IS A NATURAL OCCURRENCE IN TIMBER PRODUCTS GARDEN SHED TIMBERS.

THE MANUFACTURER OR RETAILER IS NOT RESPONSIBLE FOR THESE NATURAL PROCESS ASSOCIATED WITH TIMBER PRODUCTS SOLD.

PRESSURE TREATED IS BETTER THAN "DIPPED" TREATMENT. PRESSURE TREATMENT RESULTS IN A PROTECTIVE ENVELOPE AROUND THE TIMBER USUALLY IS AVAILABLE IN A "GREEN" COLOUR BUT THIS CAN VARY. HOWEVER SLEEPERS ARE USUALLY IN A "BROWNISH" COLOUR. IF TIMBER IS CUT THEN IT IS RECOMMENDED THAT THE CUT IS RESEALED WITH A SUITABLE PRODUCT!

PRESSURE TREATED TIMBERS SHOULD BE MAINTAINED ON A REGULAR BASIS TO ENSURE AN EXTENDED LIFESPAN!

NOTE PRESSURE TREATED FENCING & TRELLIS USUALLY HAS SPECKLES OF USUALLLY "GREEN" SPECKS RESULTING FROM THE COLOUR OF THE PRODUCTS USED IN THE PRESSURE TREATMENT PROCESS & THIS OFTEN LEAVES A "MOULD" LIKE EFFECT ON FRESHLY TREATED TIMBER DEPENDING ON THE WEATHER CONDITIONS - THIS IS NORMAL!
